LASNET in Solidarity with the Indigenous Peoples of Australia

From Black GST & Camp Sovereignty

The Howard Settler Governments invasion of the Northern territory is land-grabbing racism nothing more. This invasion is part of the neo liberal structural adjustment programme of Intuitions such as the World, Bank, the IMF & APEC to diminish and extinguish Indigenous rights forever.

Latin America Four Blocks

Latin America - Four Competing Blocks of Power

In reality there are four competing blocs of nations in Latin America, contrary to the highly simplistic dualism portrayed by the White House and most of the Left.

Solidarity Night for Bolivian people self-determination and sovereignty

Everyone with Bolivia

The process of changes in favour of the Bolivian majority is at risk of being brutally restricted. The rise to government of an Indigenous president with unprecedented support in that country and his programs of popular benefits, the recovery of the natural resources and with the support of the majority of the indigenous and grassroots organisations have had to face the conspiracies of the Bolivian richest sectors, the oligarchy and United States interference from the first day in office.

Urgent from Brazil

Defending Brazilian indigenous land rights

Dear LASNET's friends and supporters

We are writing to ask for LASNet's friends and supporters, urgent help to defend Brazilian indigenous land rights. Indigenous land rights in Brazil are under attack. The month of August will be absolutely crucial.

We are writing in the hopes of generating international support for a petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/rss408/petition.html) to defend the borders of the Raposa Serra do Sol Reservation in northern Brazil, home to the 5 indigenous peoples (Ingarikó, Makuxi, Taurepang, Wapixana and Patamona).

The Real Operation to "Rescue" Ingrid Betancourt and US Mercenaries

Author: Concerned citizens of irc.indymedia.org 05/07/2008 às 02:02

In order to understand the "rescue operation" of Ingrid Betancourt and the Northrop Grumman Corporation mercenaries who were released with her, it is necessary to piece together articles published in the media, filter the content and out of this is formed a true understanding of the facts of what happened here. A version in Portuguese is available here.

Venezuela: Democracy, Socialism and Imperialism

By James Petras (April 2008)
